When I’m out for the day I generally fill a couple of water bottles with juice, which depending on what I’m doing is enough to suffice. However, if there’s a few of us and at the end of the day we’re having a BBQ, having a dozen or so water bottles rolling around everywhere can be bit of a nuisance, this is where my 3.8L (128oz) Bubba Sport Jug comes in handy.
Made using dual-walled polyurethane with foam insulation (BPA free), and a stainless steel band, they say it keeps drinks hot up to 6 hours and cold up to 12 hours all thanks to dual-wall vacuum insulation. However, in my experience iced water usually stays chilled for around 8 hours, which is fine for me. An important USP also is that they’re impact resistant, which is just as well as it has rolled around the back of the Discovery without leaking before now!
The Sport Jug has a push button type vacuum dispenser which makes pouring easy, and the whole lid unscrews for easy filling, though it has a short and narrow thread and takes a bit of getting used to.
Overall it has a few niggly irritations, but it has never let me down in around 3 years, and in my opinion is better than the usual flasks and water bottles, especially if there’s a few of you.
